About Patrick

Patrick is originally from Kerry in Ireland and began advising clients in 2009. He was one of three people  selected from over 900 applicants to join the NatWest Private Banking graduate programme. From  there he was headhunted to Coutts Bank after 12 months and spent seven great years there.

During his time at Coutts he worked in the Sports team responsible for managing the professional footballer clients of the Bank and ended up leading the banks strategy for the football market prior  to his departure in 2016.

From there he became an independent financial adviser to increase his offering to his clients and  one of his key goals was to offer unrestricted advice, being able to advise from the whole of the market on areas from mortgage to investments and protection. In the past number of years, he has  also developed a client offering for business owners and works closely with these clients today.

Given the expertise he has built up over the years particularly in the football arena, Patrick was approached by StatSports to become a board advisor in 2019. StatSports are the world leader in  wearable sports technology and Patrick advises them on their strategy and also interacts with  private equity funds and venture capital funds on the company’s behalf.

Patrick was proud to be included in the VouchedFor Top Rated Financial Adviser Guide, which was distributed in the Sunday Times in 2021.  This accreditation is testament to the service he provides and the passion he has for his work with his clients.

Personal

Patrick is married to Rebecca, and they live in South-East London with their two young daughters. His weekends look a lot different now as rather than being on the golf course he is going on family walks around the park!

Proudest Moment as a financial adviser was:

I was introduced to a client at a young age who was really struggling with his spending. It was affecting his performances on the pitch.

After three years of hard work and providing him with a financial plan which he stuck to, the best moment for me was sitting alongside his parents when he made his debut for England.

The things I love most about my job are:
  • The ability to effect positive change in a client’s attitude to money.
  • The variety of clients I deal with.
  • The autonomy to build my business how I want to with the clients I feel I can add value to.
